Stritzinger is All State in 110, 300 Hurdles

Congratulations to senior Allen Stritzinger, All-State at the MHSAA Division 1 Track Finals held on June 3. Allen took 3rd in the 110m Hurdles, and 2nd in the 300m. 

The Pilots sent 8 men to the finals, after winning the Region 5 Meet on June 19. De La Salle finished 14th in Division 1. 

  • Joe Lietzow finished 9th in the High Jump.
  • The 4 x 100 team finished 15th.
  • Kevin Lee was 19th in the 200 m. 
  • The 4 x 400 team finished 10th. 

Regional results: This is the Pilots’ third Regional Championship in the last four years. The Pilots won in 2014 and 2015, but missed the team cut in 2016. 

Recent graduate Allen Stritzinger led the Pilots with wins in the 110 M and 300 M Hurdles. Allen was also part of the winning 4 x 100 M Relay team, along with recent graduate Kevin Lee, sophomore Josh DeBerry, and junior Zach Kendall. 

Kevin Lee also won the 200 M Finals. 

Allen and the 4 x 400 M Relay team with recent graduate Brendan Sulkowski, and juniors Robert Kroll and Semaj Shelton took second, to qualify for the State Finals. 

Recent graduate Joe Lietzow qualified in the high jump with a leap of 6’1″. 

Also contributing to the DLS first place team win of 114 points were:

Although the above did NOT qualify for the state meet, their efforts were truly part of an outstanding team effort.
