WARREN, Mich. (Jan. 9, 2019) – De La Salle Collegiate’s Students Against Vandalizing the Environment – commonly known as the SAVE Club – has collected more than 60 pounds of plastic bags.

Since November, SAVE Club has collected plastic bags as part of the Trex Recycling Challenge.

These bags are being properly recycled at local stores as they cannot be placed into single-stream recycling bins.

The collection at De La Salle will continue through April. SAVE Club is also sponsoring an electronics recycling event this month, Jan. 18-24. Students are encouraged to bring electronic waste to bins in the school’s cafeteria and storage room. Items can include computers, cords, monitors, phones, tablets, laptops and printers.

De La Salle Collegiate SAVE Club members loaded the back of this pickup truck with more than 30 pounds of plastic bags that were collected and weighed this week.
