Parent Volunteers

Parent volunteers help out on pizza day during Spirit Week at De La Salle.

The inherent value of volunteers cannot be debated. One of the things that makes De La Salle Collegiate so special is that there are so many people who are willing to give their time and energy to volunteer for our sons' sake.

The hours donated are given from the heart and they are performed with love. The Board, the CBA, the Dads Club, Music Boosters, and many other parent-led groups are dedicated and determined to make De La Salle the best high school that it can be.

If you are able to volunteer, please remember that you are truly appreciated even when we don’t see you in action or we forget to stop you that day to tell you. You are a very important part of our school community.

Since 2014, the Archdiocese of Detroit’s Office for Safe Environments requires all volunteers to complete a three-hour Protecting God’s Children Workshop.  More information is on the diocese website.

Parents and friends who wish to volunteer at DLS must ...
Complete the Criminal Background Check Form
Complete the Archdiocesan program, Protecting God’s Children.

Volunteers must bring in both documents together – certification of completing the workshop and the background check form – along with a valid driver’s license to Mrs. Sandy Carra in the main office for verification. She will make a copy of the driver’s license and keep the copy on file along with the workshop verification and background check form.

You will not be able to volunteer until these requirements are met. This is for all parents who volunteer at school in any way – chaperoning events, field trips, Dads Club and Moms Club functions, Music Boosters, WAMS volunteers, Senior All-Night party, etc.

Questions Regarding Protecting God’s Children: Contact Sandy Carra at 586.541.6200.

Volunteering is an expectation of your Financial Aid acceptance agreement.
