Volunteer

 

Parents and friends who wish to volunteer at De La Salle are REQUIRED (every 3 years):

Summary of requirements BEFORE signing up for any DLS Opportunity
1. Background check (see below)
2. Taking an online or in-person Protecting Gods' Children class with the Archdiocese of Detroit:

•  Go to:  www. virtusonline.org
  • If you are a NEW User to Virtus, please Select the FIRST-TIME REGISTRANT link on the page
  • From the drop-down list of organizations, select Detroit, MI (Archdiocese)
  • Create a user account - follow the instructions
  • Select Primary Location as De La Salle Collegiate Warren
  • From there select the training session you would like to attend.
• Once in virtus, on the left side it will say register or recertification.  Click on whichever pertains to you and follow the instructions.  The training can all be done online.  For first time users, it is a 3 hour training. Recertification is about 1.5 hours of training.  Once you finish , the school will be notified.

You can see the volunteer opportunities on the site, but will not be able to respond to opportunities until the background check is completed and the Protecting Gods' Children is verified by De La Salle Collegiate. This is for ALL parents who volunteer at school in ANY WAY – chaperoning events, field trips, Dads Club and CBA functions, Band Boosters, WAMS volunteers, Senior All-Night party, etc.
