Students Earn Honors on AP Exams

Congratulations to our De La Salle Collegiate Classes of 2017 and 2018 on their outstanding achievements on the spring Advanced Placement exams.

In May 2017, 195 students wrote 361 Advanced Placement Exams in 15 subject areas; 32 students earned Advanced Placement Awards recognizing college-level achievement.

The Class of 2017 Salutatorian, Russell Hu, was named a National AP Scholar, an honor awarded to students who receive an average score of 4 on all AP exams, and scores of 4 or higher on 8 or more exams.  Russell took nine exams and earned 4’s and 5”s on all of his exams. He is now attending the the University of Michigan.

Of the 32 earning honors, 6 students are AP Scholars with Distinction, 5  students are AP Scholars with Honor, and 21 students are AP Scholars.

AP Scholars with Distinction: students who received an average score of at least 3.5 on all AP exams taken, and scores of 3 or higher on five or more of these exams.
