WARREN, Mich. (Dec. 6, 2018) – Last month, students at De La Salle Collegiate raised more than $5,000 to fund blood cancer research in Michigan. The students’ efforts will touch countless lives with their efforts.

Through Student Advisory, the school’s student body managed to raise $5,201.45 in online and cash donations in their second annual Leukemia & Lymphoma Society fundraiser. In the first two years of their LLS Hero Squad fundraiser, De La Salle students have raised more than $12,600.

From Nov. 3-23, each Advisory classroom was provided with a coin donation box, and students were challenged to bring in spare change to fund blood cancer research. The Advisory class that brought in the most money receives an Olive Garden pasta lunch and Hungry Howie’s pizza party. The second- and third-place finishers receive Hungry Howie’s pizza parties.
