Centennial Funding Initiative

"No boy should be turned away from an education because of a lack of funds."

Br. George Synan, FSC

As De La Salle Collegiate approaches its 100th anniversary in 2026, the school is launching the Centennial Funding Initiative, a bold effort to honor its legacy while investing in the future of Catholic Lasallian education in Metro Detroit. For a century, De La Salle has formed young men of faith, character, intellect, and leadership, living out its mission of “Builders of Boys. Makers of Men.” This initiative ensures that the next generation of students continues to benefit from the same tradition of academic excellence, brotherhood, and faith formation that has defined De La Salle since 1926.

The Centennial Funding Initiative focuses on three key priorities:
  1. Expanding merit scholarships to keep a De La Salle education accessible
  2. Strengthening faculty support to attract and retain exceptional educators
  3. Growing the school’s endowment to secure long-term sustainability.

Together, these efforts will provide vital resources for scholarships, academic innovation, faculty development, and campus enhancements—ensuring that De La Salle continues to prepare young men to lead lives of purpose, service, and success for the next 100 years.

Centennial Initiative Goals

$5.0 Million

  • Ensuring affordability and accessibility for students who exemplify excellence
  • Our faculty are the heart and soul of De La Salle Collegiate. Competitive compensation, rewarding master's level faculty, and investing in training and professional development will strengthen teaching and learning for years to come.

Endowment: Securing the Future

Double the endowment to strengthen long-term sustainability

  • Endowments provide a reliable, ongoing source of income, helping the school weather economic  fluctuations or enrollment variations, and enabling it to keep pace with  technological needs and maintain the regular upkeep of its facilities. This stability reduces reliance on tuition increases and annual giving.
  • Earnings from endowed funds can support scholarships and faculty. Finally, a robust endowment ensures long-term sustainability and the preservation of the school's Catholic identity and values.
