Winter Sports Wrapping Up

We are in the final days of the winter sports season! 

Basketball won the Regional Championship over Dakota, and now face the U. of D. Cubs in the MHSAA Division 1 Quarterfinal on Tuesday, March 20, at 5 p.m., at the University of Detroit-Mercy’s Calihan Hall. Tickets are $6., and ONLY available at the gate. Game story in the Macomb Daily

Bowling won the Regional Tournament, and had its varsity team seeded fifth for second day competition at the state finals. The team lost in the quarter-final. Jacob Kujawa qualified for the Individual State Tournament. Read more

Ice Hockey lost 38 seconds into overtime , 4-3, to University Liggett School in the opening round of the MHSAA Playoffs. While the Pilots won’t have an opportunity to defend their 2017 Division 3 State Championship, the team had an outstanding year under new coach Sean Clark.

Swimming finished fourth at the MHSAA Division 2 State Meet, and senior Zach Milke captured Swimmer of the Meet honors. Zach won the 100 free and the 100 backstroke – a repeat of his 2017 100 backstroke Championship. He also anchored the first place 400 relay team. Read more

Wrestling saw senior Reggie Bostock finishing 8th in the 171 lb. class. Also qualifying for the state meet were seniors Antonio King and Damani Wallace, and freshmen Brett Stanley. Read more

Powerlifting qualified 15 students for the state finals,  and nine earned medals. Read more
